Description
Anders is in his late teens with long black hair neatly tied back and a slim athletic figure. He tends to wear flamboyant clothes; a rich plum coloured cloak with matching hose and tunic and a wide brimmed hat decorated with a crimson rose of which he is especially fond. He is a skilled bard with a fine voice and a fine ear for a tune. It is said he only needs to hear a song once to be able to play it perfectly. He is known to be both honest and friendly. He often speaks of his respect and loyalty to Lord Gyr, greatly admiring his past as a wandering adventurer.
Background
Anders was born in the city of Korvosa in Varisia but travelled to Absalom to seek his fortune as a bard. Before leaving Varisia he had been conscripted into the infantry, reaching the rank of corporal in the four years he served. He only saw combat once, a band of ogres, he fought well, slaying the ogre captain but the battle was still lost and the tattered remains of the army returned back to Korvosa in shame. He left the army and vowed never to fight again.
He is a follower of Cayden Cailean. His family was poor and they had to scrimp and save, and Anders had to work long and hard, washing dishes and singing on street corners to earn his first instrument, a tarnished flute. Since then he has worked his way up to the fringes of the Ivy District and feels he needs one big song, one powerful performance to take the next step and perform in the Ivy District, then perhaps for his hero Lord Gyr himself.
Anders commissioned the heroes to retrieve the lyrics to music that he had been hearing in his head.
