Description

The Tavern With No Doors is vast. Numerous tables of various sizes are spread throughout the room with booths with high backed padded leather benches around the walls. A large marble fireplace dominates one wall and a blazing fire burns in it giving off a welcome heat and scent as if sandalwood and other fragrant woods were being burnt. Seated at the tables are a wild mix of characters and races. Some engaged in energetic conversation, some reading others contemplating plates of food and goblets of wine. There is an air of peace and contentment in the air, in fact you would go so far as to say that even contemplating violence would be impossible here.

The Tavern With No Doors exists in a pocket dimension and can be accessed from any inn, tavern, shop or temple that displays a playing card as part of its sign. Those bearing a card from the Order of Tarot have preferential access and treatment from the staff and can stay as long as they like for free.

The Tavern With No Doors occupies a place outside of time and those that stay will not age, nor will any time based effects expire until they leave the Tavern With No Doors. No matter how long you remain in the Tavern With No Doors you will return at the exact same time and place that you entered.

Owner

Arkle, a human of nondescript appearance, gained ownership of the Tavern With No Doors many years ago after the previous owner left, falling to his death as the tavern he had entered by was at that point being carried aloft by a huge flying beast. He had grown tired of life in the Tavern With No Doors and knew that when he left he would die and deliberately lost a bet with Arkle so that the latter could take over the ownership.

Arkle has the trust of the Sairyel the Vortex Lord and carries with him a supply of cards that are the sign of membership of the mysterious Order of Tarot.
